Renal stones are made up of insoluble salts from the urine and so are formed by two basic mechanisms. The first mechanism will be the aggregation of crystals which has a non-crystalline protein (matrix) component. The salts from the urine precipitate and crystallise, aggregating the crystals, and causing them to increase into a mass enough to trigg
